Our garden
More than 500 varieties of herbs are grown in the herb garden adjacent to the Suzuki Herb Laboratory headquarters.
Herbs have long been used as medicines, insect repellents and spices in the West, and in the East they are deeply integrated into people's lives as herbal medicines.
Suzuki Herb Laboratory considers all plants that are useful to people to be herbs, and by researching them, we make use of them in the creation of our products.
Prologue to the creation of agarden ～A garden that weaves happiness～
A garden that brings happinessFor me, a garden is an existence that leads to happiness and enriches my life.
My aim is to create a garden that can be used for daily life.
It is not a beautifully proportioned garden for ornamental purposes, but a place where we can learn the power of life by living in close contact with it as the most familiar nature. The herbs we grow become models for paintings and photographs, and various products, weaving stories and nurturing culture.
And they act as a medicine chest for our physical and mental wellbeing.
In my relationship with the garden, I feel the breath of living creatures, respect the splendour of the seasons and develop an appreciation of nature's bounty.
Just as plants and flowers naturally turn towards the sun and bloom, I hope that my involvement with the garden will stimulate the life force and sensitivity within me, and that my life will turn towards happiness and abundance.
SACHIYO SUZUKI
Representative of the Suzuki Herb Laboratory. Grew up around plants from an early age. Became interested in the usefulness of herbs in her twenties, and while cultivating herbs herself, learned about aromatherapy and medical herbs, obtaining qualifications as an herbal therapist from the Japan Medical Herb Association and an aroma advisor from the NARD Aromatherapy Association. Having visited native herbs overseas and experienced the local herbal lifestyle, she now applies this knowledge to the development of her company's skincare products.
